This position serves as a dedicated instructor for New Equipment Training (NET) Programs within the Materiel Fielding and Training (MF&T) division and the TACOM LCMC. The core mission is to facilitate the initial transfer of knowledge regarding various new or displaced equipment to members of the United States Armed Forces. As a subject matter expert, you will operate independently to deliver critical operator and maintainer training, often serving as the sole expert delivering instruction at a given time.
The role blends classroom instruction with hands-on training in motor pool environments, utilizing digital training products to ensure personnel are proficient with complex systems. You will be responsible for the end-to-end management of assigned courses, including maintaining system expertise, researching technical manual updates, and initiating necessary changes to training content and methods. Additionally, you will assist in the development of training products and provide mentorship to junior instructors.
Beyond the classroom, this role involves active participation in the fielding of new or modified equipment. This includes de-processing, staging, inventory accountability, and packaging. You will also coordinate with external personnel, contractors, and program management offices, interfacing directly with customers at training locations to ensure seamless execution of training events.
This position requires a high degree of adaptability and readiness. Instructors may be required to deploy to areas of operation around the world, both in peacetime and hostile circumstances. Success in this role demands strict adherence to all medical requirements, including physicals, vaccinations, and specific country or area of operation mandates. Personnel must maintain a high level of health and fitness to perform all job requirements in diverse environments.
The work environment can be demanding and varied. Instructors may face adverse conditions such as extreme heat, cold, rain, and snow. The role often involves working in loud environments, including motor pools, weapons live-fire ranges, and explosive ordnance areas. Physical requirements include the ability to lift up to 50 lbs, climb into vehicles, and instruct in confined spaces. Safety is paramount; instructors must be prepared to wear specific safety equipment, including hearing and eye protection, safety shoes, and other gear as required by supported systems.
Due to the sensitivity of customer-related requirements, U.S. Citizenship is mandatory. Candidates must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance. A valid civilian driver's license is required, and a Commercial Driver's License (CDL) may be necessary depending on the specific systems and fielding tasks. Additional training in hazardous materials and Petroleum, Oil, and Lubricants (POL) handling may be required.
Instructors must pass an annual deployment physical to maintain deployable status; failure to pass may result in separation from the position. Random drug testing may also be conducted. Initial instructor certification is required, with recertification mandated every five years thereafter.
We are an equal opportunity employer committed to building a diverse workforce. All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability, or veteran status.
