Kforce is seeking a Network Engineer I for a 6-month contract opportunity based in Leawood, KS. This role is designed to support multiple large-scale infrastructure deployment initiatives, requiring a candidate who can combine foundational networking knowledge with strong organizational and coordination skills to drive project execution.

The Role in Context

In this position, you will serve as a critical support pillar for major wireless and firewall refresh projects. You will be responsible for supporting the installation of wireless access points across 75+ locations and assisting with a firewall refresh deployment at 100 locations. Your day-to-day will involve reviewing survey data to generate site-specific Statements of Work (SOW), building and configuring locations within the Meraki dashboard, and coordinating the logistics of hardware shipments, including packing, labeling, tracking, and receiving.

You will work closely with project managers and internal teams to ensure deployment timelines are met. While you will handle basic switch configurations and assist in troubleshooting network issues, you will also be responsible for escalating complex technical challenges to senior network engineers. Success in this role requires maintaining detailed documentation of network environments, tracking weekly progress metrics, and managing multiple workstreams across various deployments.
