About the Role
As a Senior Systems Engineer supporting NAVAIR, you will collaborate with talented professionals to create innovative, mission-critical solutions that empower naval aviation and defense operations. Your expertise will play a pivotal role in shaping cutting-edge systems, enhancing national security, and driving technological advancement for the nation.
In this position, you will perform software systems engineering for the acquisition, development, and sustainment of programs supporting aircraft and weapons systems. Your day-to-day work involves evaluating system resources, software requirements, and designs, as well as overseeing software definition, coding, unit testing, integration, and delivery. You will actively participate in the full software life-cycle, from requirements analysis through detailed design, integration, and test phases.
You will serve as a key contributor to System Engineering Technical Reviews (SRRs, SSRs, PDRs, CDRs, TRRs, etc.), ensuring all work products meet Government standards. Additionally, you will review Contract Data Requirements List (CDRL) products, support the Engineering Change Proposal (ECP) process, and assist in the development of Statements of Work and technical evaluations of contractor proposals.
Hiring Process
Candidates must possess a current DoD Secret clearance and be a U.S. Citizen with the ability to obtain a Top Secret clearance. The selection process will evaluate your technical background in DoD aircraft or weapons systems, your communication skills, and your critical thinking abilities.

Requirements
- verifiedCurrent DoD Secret clearance
- verifiedMust be a U.S. Citizen
- verifiedBS or BA degree in a Technical Discipline
- verifiedAt least five (5) years of experience in Software/Systems Engineering supporting DoD aircraft, weapons, mission, or support systems
- verifiedMH-60R/S experience
Nice to Have
Experience with DOD-STD-2167A/MIL-STD-498/IEEE 12207. Experience with Systems Software, Systems-of-Systems engineering, model-based systems engineering, or systems safety & reliability. Experience in military aircraft avionic systems and software.
