The Namaste Care Activity Partner serves as a dedicated guide within the Memory Support community, working under the direction of the Memory Support Manager and in close collaboration with the Dementia Services Educator. This role is designed to bring meaning, comfort, and connection to residents living with late-stage dementia. By planning, organizing, and overseeing a diversified activity program, the partner ensures that every engagement honors the resident's unique individuality, addressing their emotional, intellectual, physical, spiritual, and social needs.
The position is a collaborative effort, requiring seamless teamwork with the Namaste staff, Social Workers, and Culinary Services. The day-to-day rhythm involves facilitating multisensory engagements that provide feelings of safety and connection, ensuring residents have meaningful opportunities to use their time rather than experiencing boredom or loneliness. From organizing activity spaces and materials to scheduling volunteers and outside contract services like musicians, the partner acts as the hub for a comprehensive and effective programming experience.
At Williamsburg Landing, we believe in the power of connection and the dignity of every resident. The Namaste Care team operates on a foundation of compassion, professional judgment, and continuous quality improvement. As a member of this team, you will work effectively both independently and as part of a cohesive unit, contributing to care plans and documentation while adhering to our shared policies and procedures.
Candidates for this role must possess comprehensive knowledge of Alzheimer's and dementia issues, with specific experience in developing programs for senior adults in a healthcare setting. A Certified Recreational Therapist or Activity Director certification is preferred, as is additional training in gerontology or dementia.
To ensure the highest standard of care, all successful candidates must complete a 4-hour advanced Namaste Training and obtain Certified Dementia Practitioner certification within six months of employment. Basic computer skills are required to manage documentation and records.
This position operates on a tentative schedule from 8:30 AM to 2:30 PM, Monday through Friday. The pay rate starts at $19.50 per hour and is commensurate with experience.
