As a Classroom Teacher in Caddo Parish Public School System, you will work under the direction of the principal to administer the classroom in accordance with School Board policies. Your primary mission is to promote the educational development of each student through instruction, supervision, classroom management, and collaboration.
This role is designed to foster academic growth and ensure students meet the rigorous standards of the Louisiana Accountability System. You will be held accountable for meeting the TAP (Teaching Skills, Knowledge, and Responsibilities) Performance Standards, which evaluate your effectiveness across four key domains: Instruction, Planning, Environment, and Professionalism.
Your day involves creating and communicating clearly defined learning outcomes to ensure students understand lesson objectives. You will organize content in a manner that motivates students, utilizing visuals, analogies, and varied activities to address different learning styles. Effective questioning, academic feedback, and strategic student grouping will be central to your instructional approach.
Beyond direct instruction, you will manage student behavior to maintain a safe, respectful, and orderly learning environment. This includes modeling clear expectations, using non-verbal cues to show respect, and creating a positive classroom climate. You will also engage in continuous professional growth by reflecting on your teaching effectiveness, analyzing student achievement data, and implementing new learning from professional development meetings.
