About the Role

As a Classroom Teacher in Caddo Parish Public School System, you will serve as the primary architect of student learning, working under the direction of the principal to foster the educational development of every student. Your mission extends beyond instruction; you are responsible for creating a safe, respectful, and rigorous environment where students are motivated to learn, think critically, and achieve academic growth.

This role is central to the district's accountability measures. You will be evaluated using the TAP (Teaching Skills, Knowledge, and Responsibilities) Performance Standards, a research-based framework designed to ensure high-quality instruction. This system focuses on four key domains: Instruction, Planning, Environment, and Professionalism. Your success is measured not only by your mastery of these standards but also by the tangible academic growth of your students.

A Day in the Life

Your day is defined by the dynamic interplay of planning, teaching, and community building. You will design and deliver lessons that align with state standards, utilizing diverse instructional strategies to address various learning styles and intelligences. From the moment you greet students at the door, you set the tone for a culture of respect and high expectations.

Throughout the day, you will manage classroom behavior, facilitate collaborative learning, and provide immediate, meaningful feedback to guide student understanding. You will analyze student work and assessment data to diagnose learning gaps and intervene effectively. Beyond the classroom walls, you will actively participate in school improvement initiatives, collaborate with colleagues, and engage with parents and the broader community to support student success.
