This position serves as a mortgage loan originator within an assigned metropolitan territory. You will be the face of U.S. Bank for clients, taking applications, conducting preliminary underwriting reviews, and guiding loan applications through processing and underwriting. The role involves significant external engagement, requiring you to regularly solicit loan sales and conduct sales-related activities away from bank locations. Success in this role means ensuring all necessary documents are secured in a timely manner to facilitate smooth closings.
While this role is posted as remote, candidates residing near a U.S. Bank location are expected to work onsite three or more days per week. The position also requires driving for at least two hours per week to meet clients and conduct business. This role is open to multiple levels, with the final hiring level aligned to the candidate's experience.

Well-developed sales ability, basic knowledge of pricing and underwriting requirements of various mortgage insurance companies, working knowledge of underwriting requirements for FNMA, FHLMC, FHA, VA, local bonding programs, and private investors, basic knowledge of local, state and national laws (e.g., zoning ordinances, Truth-in Lending, RESPA, energy audit requirements, etc.), ability to work independently, ability to analyze financial information, effective verbal and written communication skills, established referral base within assigned market, 2 years of mortgage loan origination experience with proven results.
