About the Team
UMB's mortgage team was established in 2013 with a strategic decision to bring the entire mortgage process in-house. The team boasts a wealth of knowledge, comprised of associates who have spent 10 or more years in the mortgage field. As a vital part of the bank, the mortgage sales team attracts new clients by building strong relationships with internal stakeholders, real estate agents, and other partners who refer clients with mortgage needs.
About the Role
The Mortgage Loan Originator plays a crucial role in educating, advising, and guiding UMB clients through the loan application process. You will be with the client from the beginning of loan approval through to closing. Your primary focus is assessing the client's specific loan needs and advising on the best-fit options. Success in this role relies on building strong client relationships by providing progress reports at every step of the mortgage journey.
You will use your banking and lending knowledge to advise clients on what best fits their needs, while leveraging salesmanship skills to build a pipeline and convert leads. Interpersonal and communication skills are essential to attract clients to UMB's mortgage products and ensure they are always aware of their loan's progress.
