The Mix Operator at our Des Moines, IA premix facility is a critical link in our production chain. In this role, you will ensure the correct ingredients are added to the correct mixing systems at the precise time, following strict Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). Your work directly impacts the quality and safety of the products that reach consumers.
You will be responsible for two primary functions: cut-in operations and bagging. As a Cut-In Operator, you will retrieve ingredients from staging areas, verify lot numbers and batch tickets, and add hand-add ingredients to mixers. As a Bagging Operator, you will package finished products, ensuring accuracy in weight, labeling, and material selection. This role requires a keen eye for detail to verify components and amounts, maintain a clean work environment, and document all sanitation duties.
The position is based on the 2nd shift and offers the ability to work overtime, including weekends and holidays. You will receive on-the-job training in ADM safety, food safety, quality, and environmental protocols, as well as equipment operation such as forklifts and lifts. Candidates must successfully complete a pre-employment background check. The role requires a strong safety aptitude and the ability to work in a non-air-conditioned production environment that may involve extreme temperatures, dust, and noise levels exceeding 85 decibels. Employees must be willing to wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including hard hats, safety glasses, earplugs, and steel-toed boots.
