Match is a free, high-performing charter public school in Boston serving up to 1,250 students from PreK through 12th grade. Our mission is to prepare students—particularly multilingual learners and those who would be the first in their families to earn a college degree—for success in college and careers, achieving economic security and mobility. Students gain acceptance via an annual blind public lottery open to all Boston residents.
Our community reflects the vibrant diversity of Boston, with families representing over 20 countries of origin and speaking more than 20 different languages at home. Ninety-eight percent of our students are people of color. We are prepared to serve a student body with diverse needs, including 23% qualifying for special education services and 19% who are English Language Learners.
Match's core values are Equity, Freedom, Teamwork, Innovation, and Accountability. We are actively reframing our organizational processes and policies to be truly anti-racist. We believe that a staff diverse by race and other factors, a professional environment inclusive of all perspectives, and a culturally competent curriculum are vital to our goals.
We are seeking a Middle School Science Teacher to join our team at the Jamaica Plain Campus (215 Forest Hills St.) for the 2026 school year. In this role, you will teach up to four middle school science classes, upholding high academic and behavioral expectations while providing robust support to help students meet them. You will be an active participant in our coaching and professional development programming, assisting with school programming as needed during non-instructional time. Ultimately, you will serve as a positive and collaborative member of the Match community, dedicated to the belief that all students can and will succeed.
We encourage you to apply even if you do not believe you meet every single qualification listed or have a less traditional background. Research shows that people of color and women are often less likely to apply if they feel they must meet every requirement. Our highest priority is finding the best candidate for the job.
Please note that we can only consider applicants who have current US work authorization.
