Join the Office of Mental Health at the South Carolina Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities (DBHDD). We are dedicated to providing compassionate and accessible care to our community, striving to build a healthier, more resilient society. Our mission is to help individuals and families navigate life's challenges and achieve long-term wellness through evidence-based mental health counseling and support.
As a Mental Health Professional I - Adult Treatment at the Coastal Empire Community Mental Health Center (CEMHC) in Beaufort, SC, you will serve as a vital link in our care network. Under the direct supervision of the Clinic Director, you will provide recovery-oriented services including clinical assessments, individual and family therapy, group sessions, and crisis intervention for adults, children, adolescents, and families.
Your day will involve managing assigned cases with a focus on advocacy and coordination. You will act as a liaison between clients and external entities such as in-patient centers, probate judges, law enforcement, and DSS to ensure comprehensive care. This role requires you to address barriers to seeking services, maintain rigorous documentation standards, and ensure compliance with OMH, Medicare, Medicaid, and insurance regulations. The position may also involve in-state travel and requires post-hire certification in Managing Agitation in the Psychiatric Setting (MAPS).
