Correctional Managed Care is dedicated to addressing the healthcare needs of underserved patient populations within the Texas Department of Criminal Justice (TDCJ) and the Texas Juvenile Justice Department (TJJD). Our team operates within the unique environment of prisons, jails, and juvenile detention centers to ensure continuity of care for vulnerable individuals.
This position serves as a vital link in the mental health continuum, providing essential evaluation and therapeutic intervention to patients under our care. Working under the supervision of a Psychologist, Mental Health Manager, or Program Director, you will conduct interviews, evaluations, and diagnoses to identify mental health needs. Your day-to-day work involves delivering individual and group psychotherapy, managing crisis interventions, and developing comprehensive Individual Treatment Plans.
Beyond direct patient care, you will play a key role in the operational success of the UTMB Correctional Managed Care operation. This includes assisting with the training of medical and mental health staff, implementing Quality Improvement programs, and ensuring compliance with all required policies and standards. You will also serve as a liaison between patients, their families, on-site departments, and community agencies to coordinate treatment and facilitate aftercare services.
This role is located within the confines of a correctional facility. Candidates must be prepared to work in a secure environment where security clearance is mandatory. Additionally, pre-employment drug testing is required for all hires.
