The Mobile Crisis Team is a trained multidisciplinary response unit serving Cayuga, Cortland, Madison, Onondaga, and Oswego counties. We provide crisis intervention services in a variety of settings, including the community locations where individuals live, work, attend school, and socialize. Our goal is to interrupt and ameliorate the crisis experience through culturally and linguistically competent assessments, the development of crisis diversion, safety, and relapse prevention plans, and coordination with health, social, and peer/family support services.
The team strives to build strong relationships and a successful reputation for providing efficient, quality crisis services. Our primary objectives include diverting unnecessary hospitalizations and arrests, engaging individuals in services, reducing symptoms, stabilizing individuals, restoring them to a previous level of functioning, and developing coping mechanisms to minimize or prevent future crises.
As a Mobile Crisis Mental Health Clinician (Licensed Responder), you will join a team of Mobile Crisis Specialists and Peers to conduct clinical assessments and provide crisis intervention services. This per diem position offers flexible scheduling options tailored to the specific needs of the five-county region.
In this role, you will demonstrate a high standard of professionalism and collaborative efforts when working with law enforcement, providers, and other collaterals. You will be an integral part of a team dedicated to helping individuals live their best lives by providing psychotherapy, psychosocial rehabilitation counseling, and de-escalation support to resolve conflict and prevent the escalation of behavioral health symptoms.
