Under the direction of the Membership & Dues Accounting Supervisor, the Membership Processing Technician plays a vital role in standardizing the collection, processing, and retention of pertinent membership data. This position utilizes a comprehensive database and reporting system comprised of several subsystems designed to handle specific areas of information.
The role involves creating and maintaining individual membership records for each local and affiliate, processing national and state dues obligations, and managing leadership records. You will organize, review, and interpret membership applications and rosters, making judgments regarding effective dates and appropriate membership levels. A key part of the day-to-day work involves communicating with local and affiliate leaders and field staff to ensure accuracy and resolve inquiries.
In addition to data management, you will process, post, and reconcile funds receivable following detailed protocols, produce custom reports, and prepare roster and membership material mailings. The position also requires providing verbal and written assistance to leaders, members, and staff regarding membership processing and dues accounting. As part of the team, you will assist in the advancement of racial equity initiatives within the organization and provide back-up support to other staff as directed.
