About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated Medical Technologist to join our Laboratory team. Reporting to the Administrative Director of Laboratory, you will be the critical link between clinical testing and patient care. Your work involves performing clinical testing on patient specimens from all age groups, including in-patients, out-patients, and hospital employees.
In this role, you will utilize your technical and analytical skills to provide physicians with the necessary diagnostic information required to initiate proper medical care and treatment. You will be responsible for assessing test results and equipment for accuracy and validity, ensuring that critical or panic values are recognized and reported immediately to protect patient safety. Your day-to-day work includes performing quality control testing, conducting preventive maintenance on laboratory instruments, and participating in continuous quality improvement initiatives.
Beyond the technical aspects, you will be a vital part of our guest relations efforts, interacting with courtesy and respect with patients, the general public, and colleagues. You will also play an active role in safety, disaster, and infection control programs, ensuring a secure environment for everyone who utilizes the hospital.
