We are actively seeking Registered Nurses to join our dedicated teams across several Medicine units, including SLA 3, SLA 4, V5N, V5W, Cel 3, and Cel 4 (Adult Acute Care Medicine with Telemetry), as well as SLA 5 (Renal and Palliative Specialty Medicine) and V4W (Acute Care for Older Adults Medicine).
To be part of our organization, every employee is expected to understand and share in the YNHHS Vision, support our Mission, and live our core values: integrity, patient-centered care, respect, accountability, and compassion. These values must guide our actions as individuals and professionals every day.
As a Registered Nurse, you will work under the supervision of the Nurse Manager or Clinical Coordinator to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individual patient care according to unit policies and procedures. You will also provide supervision to non-RN personnel on your assigned unit. In a charge role, you will delegate and supervise unit activities, potentially working across other nursing units as needed to support staff and patient distribution.
Your day-to-day impact involves assessing patients' physical and psychosocial conditions throughout their continuum of care. You will develop and communicate care plans that reflect individualized patient problems and interventions, actively involving the patient, family, and healthcare team in this process. You will coordinate this plan of care, evaluate its effectiveness, and revise it as needed, including making appropriate referrals and planning for patient and family education.
In addition to direct patient care, you may function as a preceptor to new staff and serve as a charge nurse. The role requires demonstrating specific competencies in neuro patient care, including neuro assessment, airway management, tracheostomy care, and assistance during special neuro procedures. You will also be skilled in the use of equipment for patients in halo braces and those on ventilators, performing necessary suctioning procedures according to established policies.
