This position serves as a vital liaison between the United Business Office Coding department and hospital staff. You will oversee office operations and act as a resource for subordinate staff, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of medical coding processes. The role requires a high level of expertise in clinical coding, charge capture, and charge entry systems to resolve complex problems and non-routine inquiries on behalf of the designated leader.
In this capacity, you will coordinate the daily work of the team, assigning staff to accommodate office priorities and ensuring quantity goals are met. You will also play a key role in personnel matters, including training new staff, preparing performance evaluations, and assisting with interviews. By performing ongoing data quality checks and analyzing data output, you will help identify coding problems and participate in corrective actions to maintain the highest standards of accuracy.
This is a full-time, regular position based in New York, with remote work options available for candidates located in New York, Albany, or the United States of America. The role operates on a standard day shift schedule.

Associate's degree. American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA) accreditation examination for Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA) or (Registered Health Information Technician) RHIT or Certified Coding Specialist (CCS). Certified Professional Coder (CPC) from American Academy of Professional Coders (AAPC) or Certified Medical Coder (CMC) from Practice Management Institute.
