Hawaiʻi Health & Harm Reduction Center (HHHRC) provides harm reduction-focused services to marginalized populations across Hawaiʻi. We serve people living with and/or affected by HIV, hepatitis, substance use, homelessness, and the transgender, LGBQ, and Native Hawaiian communities. Our mission is to bridge gaps and help individuals access essential resources such as housing, health care, entitlements, and treatment. Through outreach, care services, advocacy, training, prevention, education, and capacity building, we foster health, wellness, and systemic change in Hawaiʻi and the Pacific.
As a Medical Receptionist, you will be the first point of contact for our patients and visitors, staffing the reception desk during business hours. This role is vital to maintaining a welcoming and efficient environment for our diverse community. You will manage the flow of patients through check-ins and check-outs, handle incoming communications, and ensure accurate documentation within our electronic medical records. Beyond administrative tasks, you will serve as a compassionate representative of HHHRC, interacting with clients facing complex challenges with professionalism, empathy, and a non-judgmental attitude.
This is a permanent, full-time, non-exempt position based in Honolulu, Hawaiʻi. While core hours are generally 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday, the role may require occasional evening and weekend attendance for required events. You will work in an indoor, air-conditioned office and clinical environment. The role involves regular interaction with patients and staff, requiring the ability to handle sensitive situations with tact and diplomacy. As a frontline staff member, you will adhere to strict confidentiality standards, including HIPAA requirements, and maintain a safe, cooperative, and enthusiastic working environment.
