This position serves as a vital technical resource within the clinical laboratory at Avera Dells Area Health Hospital. You will perform a variety of clinical laboratory tests and procedures, utilizing scientific principles and technical aptitude to ensure the accuracy and reliability of patient data.
Your day-to-day operations will involve managing laboratory instrumentation and disciplines, including supply inventory, quality control, calibration, and reagent preparation. You will apply independent judgment to distinguish between normal and abnormal clinical parameters, initiating corrective actions and alerting appropriate staff when necessary. Beyond testing, you will act as a primary resource for your team, providing technical guidance, training new employees on equipment and procedures, and participating in the development of protocols and laboratory continuous quality improvement (CQI) activities.
