As a Clinical Laboratory Scientist, you will serve as a vital technical resource within our laboratory operations. This role is designed for individuals who utilize scientific principles and independent judgment to perform a variety of clinical laboratory tests and procedures. You will be responsible for the day-to-day management of laboratory instrumentation, including quality control, calibration, and reagent preparation.
Your work involves distinguishing between normal and abnormal clinical parameters, ensuring all abnormal results are rechecked and appropriately documented. You will act as a primary resource for your team, providing technical guidance and training new employees on equipment and procedures. Additionally, you will participate in the development of protocols and lab manuals, ensuring our operations align with established standards and continuous quality improvement initiatives.
This position is primarily a day shift role, with on-call involvement for nights, weekends, and holidays. Success in this role requires a commitment to Avera's core values of compassion, hospitality, and stewardship. You will be expected to uphold our CARE standards (Communication, Attitude, Responsiveness, and Engagement) while maintaining strict confidentiality and adhering to safety principles and regulations set by CMS, The Joint Commission, and OSHA.
