KU MedWest is seeking a dedicated Medical Assistant to join our Urgent Care team on the KU MedWest campus. In this part-time capacity (20 hours/week), you will be the vital link ensuring the efficient flow of patients through our healthcare setting. Your role is defined by a commitment to providing exceptional customer service and delivering culturally sensitive care while facilitating examinations and treatments.
You will work as an integral member of an interdisciplinary team, collaborating with physicians, nurses, and support staff to coordinate patient care plans. From preparing patients for visits and performing limited procedures to maintaining organized exam rooms and managing supply inventories, your contributions directly impact the quality of the patient experience. This position offers a dynamic day-to-day environment where you will handle everything from scheduling diagnostic tests and processing insurance forms to assisting with special procedures and documenting vital signs.
Please note that this role operates within a flexible schedule ranging from 7:00 AM to 9:00 PM on weekdays, and 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM on weekends and holidays. The position requires availability for one winter holiday, one summer holiday, and one Saturday and Sunday per month. Occasional floating within the Metro area may be necessary based on department needs.
