About the Team
Ascension Saint Thomas Urgent Care is part of the Urgent Team family, one of the largest independent operators of urgent and family care centers in the Southeast. With 18 locations across Tennessee, our centers are dedicated to providing quality, affordable healthcare to the community. Our walk-in centers operate seven days a week, offering treatments for injuries and illnesses, as well as occupational health and wellness care. We serve patients from Monday through Friday (8 a.m. to 8 p.m.), Saturday (9 a.m. to 5 p.m.), and Sunday (1 p.m. to 5 p.m.).
About the Role
We are seeking experienced Medical Assistants to join our team in the Nashville, TN area. In this role, you will provide essential clinical care within our urgent care, occupational health, and workers' compensation settings. You will be the first point of contact for patients, responsible for initial evaluations, recording histories and vital signs, and preparing patients for provider evaluation by recognizing acuity levels for appropriate intervention.
Your day will involve a blend of clinical and operational tasks. You will greet patients promptly, communicate clearly about wait times, and assist with check-in and check-out procedures. A significant portion of your time will be dedicated to clinical procedures, including performing phlebotomy, injections, and preparing and shooting X-Rays with a focus on proper positioning and safety. You will also ensure timely follow-up on lab and x-ray results and maintain clean, stocked exam rooms while adhering to strict infection control and patient confidentiality standards.
Schedule
Full-time team members work a rotating schedule of 36-40 hours per week, consisting of 12-hour weekday shifts and every-other weekend. We also offer PRN (per diem) opportunities scheduled on an as-needed basis.
