The Medical Assistant Preceptor serves as a pivotal bridge between clinical operations and regulatory excellence within SNAHC. Reporting to the Medical Clinic Manager, this position is dedicated to cultivating a culture of safety, compliance, and high-quality patient care. The role exists to ensure that every Medical Assistant (MA) not only meets the rigorous standards of AAAHC accreditation but also operates at the top of their scope to enhance the patient experience.
In this capacity, you will work closely with clinic leadership, Quality Improvement (QI) teams, and regulatory compliance staff to implement best practices and workflow efficiencies. You will act as the subject matter expert on MA workflows, guiding staff through complex regulatory landscapes including OSHA, HIPAA, and infection control protocols. Your day-to-day involves a dynamic blend of clinical instruction, administrative oversight, and strategic collaboration to drive organizational goals.
As the Medical Assistant Preceptor, you will be the architect of our onboarding and competency verification programs. You will ensure that MAs are proficient in clinical procedures, EHR documentation (NextGen), vaccine administration, and patient interactions. Beyond training, you will foster a supportive environment by providing coaching on customer service and de-escalation skills, ensuring staff are equipped to handle diverse patient needs with empathy and professionalism.
You will also play a key role in maintaining our accreditation status. By conducting regular skills audits, chart reviews, and mock surveys, you will ensure that our documentation and practices remain compliant with federal and state laws. This role is essential for optimizing patient flow, reducing wait times, and integrating new team members smoothly into our clinical operations.
This position offers the opportunity to work across multiple SNAHC sites, including Midtown, Florin, and GUHS, requiring local travel. The role involves a hybrid of clinical and administrative responsibilities, requiring the ability to stand for extended periods and assist with patient care procedures as needed.
