As a Medical Assistant at Independence Health, you will serve as a vital resource for both clinical and clerical staff within our physician practices. This position is designed to support the delivery of high-quality patient care by performing essential direct care activities under the direction of nurses and physicians. From preparing patients for examinations to administering treatments and managing critical documentation, your work ensures the practice runs smoothly and safely.
You will act as a bridge between patients and the medical team, collecting healthcare data, performing lab tests, and providing pre- and post-examination education. Beyond clinical duties, you will handle key administrative functions such as verifying patient demographics, managing billing codes, and maintaining quality control initiatives. Your role is critical in upholding National Patient Safety Goals and ensuring compliance with infection control processes and hospital policies.
