The team offers convenient, walk-in care seven days a week, treating injuries and illnesses, and providing occupational health and wellness care. The Knoxville, TN location is part of this network dedicated to serving the community's immediate healthcare needs.
This Medical Assistant position is designed to provide essential clinical care within urgent care, occupational health, and workers' compensation settings. You will be the first point of contact for patients, responsible for initial evaluations, x-ray testing, and preparing patients for provider evaluation by recording histories and vital signs. A key part of the role involves recognizing acuity levels to ensure appropriate intervention and maintaining the flow of the clinic.
In this role, you will greet patients promptly, communicate clearly about wait times, and offer solutions to concerns. You will support the front desk during check-in and check-out procedures, ensure timely follow-up on lab and x-ray results, and maintain stocked, clean exam rooms. The position requires performing phlebotomy, injections, and other clinical procedures under provider supervision, as well as preparing and shooting X-Rays with a focus on proper positioning and safety.
Full-time team members work a rotating schedule of 36-40 hours per week, consisting of 12-hour weekday shifts and every-other weekend. PRN (per diem) team members are scheduled on an as-needed basis.
