The Medical Assistant serves as a vital clinical partner within the urgent care, occupational health, and workers' compensation settings. This role is designed to ensure patients receive prompt, high-quality care through efficient clinical support and clear communication.
In this position, you will be the first point of contact for many patients, greeting them and providing clear updates on wait times and next steps. Your day will involve conducting initial evaluations, recording patient histories and vital signs, and recognizing acuity levels to determine the appropriate level of intervention. A significant portion of the role focuses on diagnostic support, specifically preparing and shooting X-Rays with strict adherence to safety and radiation protection protocols. You will also perform phlebotomy and injections under provider supervision, assist with patient transfers, and ensure exam rooms remain stocked and clean. The role requires a proactive approach to patient concerns, ensuring timely follow-ups on lab and X-ray results and supporting front desk operations when needed.
