Kforce is partnering with a global supplier of wafer fabrication equipment and services dedicated to manufacturing semiconductors. We are seeking a Mechatronics Engineer to join their team in Fremont, CA. This is a 2-year contract role designed to support critical development in robotic path planning and computer vision algorithms.
In this position, you will lead system integration and testing for both hardware and software components. You will collaborate closely with mechanical, electrical, and software engineers to design, test, and troubleshoot special application end effectors on 6-axis robots. The ideal candidate thrives in a dynamic, start-up-like environment where hands-on development and prototyping are essential. You will be responsible for owning tasks and projects from concept to completion, ensuring proper release and hand-off.
This role requires an onsite presence in the lab 5 days a week, with occasional travel. You will work within a cross-functional team to assist in the design, analysis, and performance evaluation of robotic systems, applying engineering theories to solve complex technical problems.

Experience with Behavior Tree/MoveIt. Experience with robotic hardware design and end effector application development. Proficiency in MCAD model creation (Siemens NX, Creo, SolidWorks). Knowledge of C++, Python, OpenCV, TensorFlow or PyTorch, JS + React, ROS, ROS2. Experience with web APIs or SDKs. Embedded Linux experience working with Kernels. Project management experience.
