As a Service Technician 2, you serve as the technical backbone for our national accounts, distributors, and end users. Your mission is to deliver hands-on solutions that not only fulfill client requirements but also uphold our company values. You will own every customer problem or incident from start to finish, ensuring resolution that meets both customer satisfaction and our Service Agreements.
This role is dynamic and customer-facing. You will perform on-site installations, repairs, and maintenance on various electromechanical packaging and dispensing equipment. Beyond fixing issues, you will conduct product demonstrations and provide technical guidance and training to in-house maintenance staff. A key part of your day involves building relationships with back-of-house contacts to gather feedback and presenting complex technical concepts to non-technical individuals effectively.
To succeed in this position, you will need a High School degree plus an Associate degree in a technology field (such as mechanical, electrical, or electronics) or equivalent experience. You must possess broad knowledge of mechanical hand tools and principles, alongside the ability to interpret technical diagrams and manuals.
Proficiency with PC applications, including Microsoft Windows, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, is required, as is the ability to use iPads for work orders, communication, and team calls. You should be a self-starter capable of managing multiple projects with minimal direction, adapting to change, and meeting tight deadlines.
Physical requirements are an essential part of the job. You must be able to lift up to 60 lbs., carry tools and parts weighing up to 20 lbs., and carry 50 lbs. up four flights of stairs. The role also requires the ability to bend, squat, walk, stand, and sit for prolonged periods, as well as push and pull equipment carts weighing up to 60 lbs.
This position may involve the use of a company-owned or leased vehicle; therefore, a valid state driver's license and a good driving record are mandatory. Flexibility is crucial, as the role may require extended hours during the work week, as well as open availability for weekends and holidays on an as-needed basis.
