About the Role
As an ElectroMechanical Engineer on the Cable and Interconnects team, you will be responsible for the product design, development, and production support of space flight avionics systems. You will work closely with senior engineers to develop preliminary 3D concept models of cable and harnessing, advancing them from concept to flight use. This role requires you to work autonomously, delivering high-level work products and being accountable for milestone achievement within a cross-functional team developing world-class avionics systems.
Location and Work Model
This position is onsite full-time and does not support teleworking. The preferred candidate will be located near our Lockheed Martin Space facility in Englewood, CO, or Littleton, CO. These locations are recognized as some of the "Coolest places to work."

Key Responsibilities
- check_circleDevelop cable designs, performance requirements, and stress and thermal analysis
- check_circleIdentify initial physical architecture for the Avionics subsystem
- check_circleConduct R&D trade studies for the Pre-SRR design phase
- check_circleDefine requirements and provide the framework for architecture and interface development
- check_circleGenerate and release design disclosure artifacts including technical presentations and reports
- check_circleResolve test anomalies and support system level testing
- check_circleParticipate in iterative design reviews, EMRB hardware discrepancy decisions, and FRB
Requirements
- verifiedBachelor of Science or higher in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering or related discipline
- verified2+ years professional experience (or 0+ with Masters degree)
- verifiedUS Citizenship required
- verifiedSecret clearance required
- verifiedExperience with wire harness and cable design
- verifiedKnowledge of cable manufacturing processes
- verifiedFull working knowledge of GD&T
- verifiedExperience with CAD design
- verifiedExperience synthesizing requirements into cable and harness designs
Nice to Have
Working knowledge of EPDM tools or equivalent; Exposure to DFx Principles (Design for Affordability, Design for Manufacturability, etc.); Experience with CREO CAD modeling and Zuken; Missile/Aerospace related experience; Proficiency in Microsoft Office Software (Word, Excel, MS Project, PowerPoint); Familiarity with FBM specifications/procedures; Familiarity and experience partnering with SP/SPF Customer Partners; Experience with QNotes (SAP/ERP), PMP Database, FAST Items, DaSI, and FBM Web (Livelink); Previous CPE and MRB experience; Experience as a technical lead including resource planning and training, maintaining schedules, and ensuring technical performance; Ability to communicate issues and additional resource needs to leadership; Experience with subcontracted hardware suppliers; Experience performing tolerance stack-ups; Exposure to Requalification Activities including MORAs and Supplier Relocations; Hands-on hardware experience.
