GreenXT is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to provide comprehensive programmatic, administrative, and engineering support for HM&E systems within the Auxiliary Machinery Systems Division of the Naval Surface Warfare Center Carderock Division (NSWCPD). This role is critical to the Life Cycle Management of these systems, encompassing technical data management, catalog updating, and general equipment support.
In this position, you will serve as a key resource for Air Conditioning and Refrigeration (AC/R), Auxiliary, Combat Support, Life Support, Ventilation, and Compressed Air Systems. Your day-to-day activities will involve providing in-service engineering, developing test procedures, and coordinating onsite support for programs such as Machine Alterations (MACHALTs), engineering change proposals, and ship change documents (SCDs). You will review preliminary and detail designs to identify discrepancies between installation drawings and actual vessel configurations, ensuring accuracy through pre- and post-installation ship checks.
Additionally, you will actively participate in the NSWCPD System Engineering Program (SEP), attending meetings, completing action items, and engaging in training and assessments. This role requires the physical ability to work aboard ships, in shipyards, and in confined spaces, including climbing ladders and transporting heavy equipment.
If you are motivated by the idea that your hard work can make the jobs of our warfighters easier and contribute to national defense, we hope you join us on this mission.
