About the Role

This position serves as a Master Electrician within the State of Delaware's Executive Branch, specifically supporting the Division of Facilities Management. The role is critical for ensuring the safety and operational continuity of state facilities across the state. Incumbents are responsible for advanced electrical work, including the installation, repair, and maintenance of complex electrical equipment and systems. The position requires the authority to certify installations according to national standards, ensuring all work meets rigorous safety and regulatory requirements.

Hiring Process & Conditions of Hire

The selection process evaluates applicants based on their education, training, and experience as they relate to the job requirements. Candidates must provide complete and accurate information on their application and supplemental questionnaire, including specific dates of employment, job titles, and detailed summaries of course content for education and training. Conditions of Hire:

  • Authorization: Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States. The State participates in the Federal E-Verify system.
  • Drug Testing: A pre-employment drug test is required upon a conditional offer.
  • Physical Evaluation: Candidates must pass a Functional Capability Evaluation to assess strength and agility.
  • Background Check: A satisfactory criminal background check is required. The recruiting agency may require the applicant to cover the cost of this check.
