About the Role
This contract position is based in Memphis, TN, focusing on the simple assembly of small wheels for carts. The role requires a hands-on approach, utilizing hand tool experience to ensure precision and quality in every assembly task.
Day in the Life
You will work primarily on a day shift from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday through Friday, with occasional Saturdays and overtime as needed. The schedule typically involves 10-hour days Monday through Thursday, an 8-hour day on Friday, and a 5-hour shift on Saturday.
Your daily responsibilities include reading tape measures and interpreting assembly or mechanical drawings to guide your work. You will utilize a variety of hand tools, saws, and drills, including operating a circular saw for cutting wood. The role also involves operating heavy machinery, such as driving a forklift and managing overhead cranes safely. Additionally, you may gain experience working with conveyor systems, gearboxes, motors, shafts, sprockets, chains, and bearings.
The work environment demands high attention to detail and the ability to solve problems using reasoning and thinking skills. You will be expected to perform repetitive tasks regularly and lift between 30 to 50 pounds. Success in this role requires the ability to work effectively within a team, respecting all teammates while maintaining self-motivation and accuracy in your output.
