About the Role
The Entry-Level Mechanic position is designed for individuals eager to launch a career in automotive and heavy equipment maintenance. You will serve as a vital support member of our branch team, assisting with the repair, servicing, and maintenance of company-owned vehicles and equipment, including diesel trucks, lifts, trailers, and small engines.
Working under the guidance of experienced mechanics and the Facilities Manager, you will gain hands-on training and build a strong foundation in technical skills. Your day-to-day involves performing basic mechanical repairs and preventive maintenance, ensuring all equipment is safe and properly serviced. You will document your work accurately on check sheets and support inventory management by tracking shop supplies, parts, and tools.
This role offers a dynamic environment where you will collaborate with senior mechanics to learn the basics of hydraulics, electrical systems, welding, and fabrication. You will maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area, adhering strictly to company safety policies and the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE). The position requires physical stamina, including the ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in varied weather conditions around machinery and petroleum products.
Hiring Process
Candidates selected for this role must provide a valid driver's license with a safe driving record and be able to pass a pre-employment drug test and physical. While basic hand tools are expected to be provided by the candidate, the company will supply all necessary specialty tools.
