Our mission is to inspire and prepare every child, every day, by providing relevant, engaging, and innovative learning experiences in and out of the classroom. We are dedicated to creating a learning environment supported by a positive, instructionally focused school climate. Our goal is to build intellectually and emotionally safe, engaging classroom communities that grow into a culture personalized and co-constructed with students and adults to support the success of each and every learner.
As a Secondary Math Teacher at Sun Prairie West High School, you will be the architect of a safe and inclusive learning environment. Your day will be defined by fostering positive, kind, and respectful relationships while nurturing students' self-awareness, identity development, and sense of purpose. You will implement equitable, culturally responsive curriculum that challenges learners to engage in productive struggle, supporting their perseverance and agency in meeting high expectations.
In this role, you will not only teach mathematics but also facilitate the expression of reasoned, evidence-based arguments and ideas. You will collaborate with content specialists, including Advanced Learner and Special Education teachers, to create multiple pathways for students to learn and demonstrate their understanding. Your work involves reflecting thoughtfully on lessons, maintaining accurate records, and partnering with families to provide inviting opportunities for their participation in the instructional program.
Candidates must possess and maintain a current Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction license at the appropriate level and content area. The position is available starting August 17, 2026. Successful candidates will be required to complete a physical examination as mandated by Wisconsin Statute 118.25.
We are committed to maintaining a culture where all aspects of diversity and learner variability are understood, expected, and welcomed. We value professionalism, ethical conduct, and the highest standards of dedication to our students. We seek educators who show a commitment to ongoing professional learning and who actively contribute to the school and district environment through collaboration with colleagues, supervisors, and community members.
