Pediatrix & Obstetrix is one of the nation's leading providers of highly specialized health care for women, babies, and children. Since 1979, the organization has grown from a single neonatology practice into a national, multispecialty medical group. As the largest employer of Maternal-Fetal Medicine (MFM) specialists in the U.S., the group comprises 30 practices and over 150 physicians across 15 states. Our clinicians are committed to providing coordinated, compassionate, and clinically excellent services, bolstered by significant investments in research, education, and quality-improvement initiatives.
We are seeking an experienced Maternal-Fetal Medicine Specialist to join our dynamic 7-physician MFM team in Tampa, Florida. This role offers the chance to practice at the forefront of perinatal care within a collaborative environment that prioritizes both quality care and quality personal time.
This position is designed for physicians who value a balanced lifestyle without compromising on clinical excellence. You will practice at the forefront of perinatal care with a unique focus on high-risk management, featuring no obstetrical deliveries. The role involves a mix of office and hospital-based work across four hospitals and multiple office locations.
You will partner closely with OB Hospitalists and Neonatology teams, particularly at St. Joseph's Women's Hospital, which features a 76-bed Level IV NICU and 24/7 OB Hospitalist coverage. Your reach extends to Advent, Morton Plant, and Meese Countryside Hospitals, including a high-risk clinic in collaboration with BayCare Health. The practice utilizes state-of-the-art perinatal ultrasound equipment and works with fetal echo-certified ultrasonographers.
A key component of this role is the opportunity for academic engagement. You will have the chance to teach with the new OB/GYN residency program launching at St. Joseph's Women's Hospital in July 2026. The call schedule is flexible, consisting of a 1:6 rotation for hospital consults and ultrasound coverage, typically averaging 5 calls per month and one weekend every 6 weeks.
