About the Team
Albany Medical College is seeking a full-time faculty member to join the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, specifically the Division of Maternal Fetal Medicine (MFM). This is an exciting opportunity to work in a collaborative and academic environment, providing high-level care to patients across the Capital District.
Albany Medical Center is the centerpiece of medicine, research, and medical education in New York's Capital Region and is the area's largest private employer with more than 10,000 employees. Anchored in the state's historic capital city, the center offers a full range of inpatient and outpatient care and is home to the region's largest hospital, only Level 1 adult and pediatric trauma centers, and only children's hospital. The downtown campus also offers opportunities at Albany Medical College.
The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology supports 24 residents and 3 MFM fellows (1 per year). The division performs fetal echocardiography, amniocentesis, chorionic villus sampling, and more advanced procedures. The team serves a diverse patient population with complex maternal-fetal needs and is part of the only Level IV NICU in the region.
Albany Medical Center, along with Columbia Memorial Health, Glens Falls Hospital, Saratoga Hospital, and the Visiting Nurses, form the Albany Med Health System, serving more than three million people over 25 counties.
About the Role
You will provide maternal fetal medicine services, including high-risk ultrasounds, prenatal consultations, and antepartum care. As a member of the Albany Med Faculty Physician Group, you will practice within its affiliated inpatient facilities.
A core component of this role is teaching and mentoring medical students, residents, and MFM fellows. You will also participate in scholarly activities, with opportunities for regional and national presentations and publications. The position requires strong clinical skills with a commitment to collaborative team-based care, independent decision-making, and academic and educational excellence.
