About the Team
Albany Medical College is seeking a full-time faculty member to join the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, specifically the Division of Maternal Fetal Medicine (MFM). This is an exciting opportunity to work in a collaborative academic environment, providing high-level care to patients across the Capital District.
Albany Medical Center is the centerpiece of medicine, research, and medical education in New York's Capital Region and serves as the area's largest private employer. Anchored in the state's historic capital city, the center offers a full range of inpatient and outpatient care, including the region's only Level 1 adult and pediatric trauma centers and the only children's hospital. The Albany Med Health System, which includes Albany Medical Center, Columbia Memorial Health, Glens Falls Hospital, Saratoga Hospital, and the Visiting Nurses, serves more than three million people across 25 counties.
The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology supports a robust academic mission with five clinical divisions. The department currently supports 24 residents and 3 MFM fellows (one per year). The MFM division performs advanced procedures including fetal echocardiography, amniocentesis, and chorionic villus sampling.
About the Role
This role offers the chance to serve a diverse patient population with complex maternal-fetal needs within the only Level IV NICU in the region. You will practice within the Albany Med Faculty Physician Group and its affiliated inpatient facilities, providing maternal fetal medicine services that include high-risk ultrasounds, prenatal consultations, and antepartum care.
Beyond clinical duties, you will play a vital role in the academic mission by teaching and mentoring medical students, residents, and MFM fellows. There are ample opportunities to participate in scholarly activities, including regional and national presentations and publications.
