About the Role
As a key member of the masonry team, you will actively participate in the hands-on execution of masonry work while assisting in the leadership and motivation of crew members and subcontractors. This role is designed to ensure that safety, production, quality control, and schedule adherence are maintained according to the priorities and plans set by the Masonry Superintendent.
You will serve as a professional representative of M. B. Kahn, promoting integrity, honesty, hard work, and quality throughout all aspects of the project. Your day-to-day activities will involve a blend of practical fieldwork and coordination, including reading and interpreting plans, training workers, performing wall layouts, and executing tasks such as laying brick and/or CMU, mixing mortar, and conducting quality control inspections.
In this position, you will be responsible for identifying potential problems that could delay masonry work and implementing resolutions as directed. You will also support the superintendent in managing tool and equipment utilization to ensure company resources are used efficiently, while maintaining assigned company assets and ensuring all tools are returned to the conex by the end of the day.
Safety and Compliance
Safety is paramount at M. B. Kahn. You will be expected to comply with the company's Safety Program, OSHA guidelines, and all internal policies, procedures, and standards. This includes leading weekly Safety Meetings when assigned and ensuring that all work is performed in strict adherence to building codes and contract documents.
Application Instructions
Candidates must possess a minimum of a 2-year Construction or Engineering Degree OR 1-3 years of practical field experience. Additionally, the following certifications are required: OSHA 30 Hour Course for Construction, Current First Aid Certification, Lull Operator License, Scaffold Competent Person, and Boom Lift Operator Certification. Please note that if you have not completed these courses, the company will make them available to you during employment.
