NASSCO's repair division is a cornerstone of national defense, recognized for innovation and reliability in shipbuilding. Our team operates within a secure, expanding work environment, delivering high-impact, mission-critical projects that support the U.S. Navy. We are a dynamic group dedicated to maintaining the operational readiness of naval vessels through expert craftsmanship and technical precision.
As a Marine Electrician (Repair), you will be the backbone of our electrical services on ships. This role is designed for skilled tradespeople who thrive in a fast-paced, hands-on environment. You will be responsible for the full lifecycle of electrical systems: laying out, pulling, and installing cable and conduit, as well as welding and hooking up essential equipment.
Your day-to-day involves preparing work areas by drilling and grinding metal surfaces, interpreting complex composite blueprints and Navy standards manuals, and rigorously testing equipment for functionality and safety. Whether working at NASSCO's yard in San Diego, at NASNI Coronado, or directly on active Navy ships, you will navigate varying conditions, including heights and confined spaces, to ensure every vessel is electrically sound.
This is a unique opportunity to contribute to strategic national defense projects while working for a company with a legacy of excellence. You will join a workforce that values reliability and skill, offering a clear path from a contract role to a permanent position. The environment is designed for those who take pride in their craft and want to see their work directly impact national security.
