Q.E.D. Systems, Inc. is a dedicated ship repair company committed to maintaining the integrity and functionality of marine vessels. We provide essential trade services to support naval and civilian fleets, ensuring operational readiness through expert electrical maintenance and repair.
We are seeking a California Shipboard Marine Electrician to join our team in National City, CA. In this role, you will report directly to a Foreman or Project Supervisor responsible for executing complex ship repair projects. You will be instrumental in the installation, alteration, repair, troubleshooting, and maintenance of critical electrical systems aboard ships and in industrial repair environments.
Your day-to-day responsibilities will involve interpreting NAVSEA technical drawings, wiring diagrams, and schematics to guide your work. You will determine material needs, select appropriate load and cable sizes, and manage cable runs, including grooming, banding, and packing Multi-Cable Transits. The role requires the proficient use of electrical measuring instruments such as voltmeters, ammeters, and frequency testing equipment to ensure all systems operate safely and efficiently.
This position is ideal for individuals with active-duty shipboard or civilian shipyard experience in electrical trades. While experience with small marine boat crafts, multi-pin connectors, fiber optic connections, and cableways is a plus, the core focus is on executing high-quality electrical work under strict safety regulations.
To apply for this position, candidates must meet specific security and identification requirements. U.S. citizenship is mandatory, and you must be eligible for a Defense Biometric Identification System (DBIDS) credential and Common Access Card (CAC). Additionally, you must be able to meet and maintain eligibility for a Secret Clearance or access military facilities, naval shipyards, and private shipyards. A government-issued ID card, such as a REAL ID, U.S. passport, or passport card, is required.
Q.E.D. Systems, Inc. is an equal opportunity employer. We value diversity and are committed to providing a supportive work environment for all employees, including veterans and individuals with disabilities. We offer a competitive benefits package including paid leave, medical, dental, vision, disability insurance, a 401(k) retirement plan, and an Employee Assistance Program.
