As an Entry Marine Electrician, you will join a dynamic team supporting U.S. Naval Ships in Norfolk, VA. Your primary focus is delivering quality, safe work on-board U.S. Naval Ships and military installations. You will perform general manual labor, fabricate and assemble electromechanical and electronic assemblies, and ensure the successful execution of critical missions to protect and serve the Military. This role involves working closely with the customer and other Serco team members to provide cabling, equipment, and C5ISR system installations.
Your work will take place in the beautiful surroundings of Norfolk, VA, often requiring you to work in high-heat spaces, climb shipyard dry dock stairs, and navigate under false decking. You will troubleshoot and correct malfunctions, conduct tests requiring subjective judgment, and operate standard test equipment to record data. A significant portion of your shift will involve performing electrical work on ships and boats, repairing wiring to restore power to engines and navigation systems, and securing work areas to prevent electrical shock. You will also maintain engineering records, perform computations, and plot data while adhering to strict safety protocols and wearing proper PPE.
