BAE Systems Norfolk Ship Repair is seeking a Marine Electrician 1st Class Mechanic to support our Norfolk Ship Repair Facility. In this role, you will be the backbone of our electrical maintenance operations, ensuring the reliability and safety of shipboard systems. You will troubleshoot and repair complex electrical equipment, interpret technical drawings and Navy Standards, and execute precise installations and cable terminations in a heavy industrial environment.
Your day-to-day involves a blend of independent problem-solving and collaborative teamwork. You will review job packets to determine necessary drawings, lay out installation requirements, and conduct system rip-outs using specialized tools. From installing control apparatus and connecting power cables to marking circuitry with precise identification tags, your work ensures that vessels remain operational and safe. This position requires a high level of physical agility, including the ability to navigate confined spaces, climb ladders, and maneuver in tight areas such as manholes.
This position is covered under a Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA), which governs wages and benefits. Interested candidates should apply directly through the BAE Systems career site.
