About the Role

As a Manufacturing Engineer II, you will independently drive improvements across the RIX value stream and own manufacturing processes for assigned products or production areas. This role is designed to bridge the gap between design and production, ensuring manufacturing readiness for new products while leading corrective actions to resolve complex production issues.

In this position, you will influence product design to improve manufacturability and assembly efficiency. You will serve as a technical resource to production personnel and junior engineers, providing training on new manufacturing processes and methods. Your work will directly impact safety, ergonomics, throughput, and product quality, helping to reduce cycle time and cost of goods sold through continuous improvement initiatives like Lean events and Kaizen activities.

Key Responsibilities

  • check_circleDevelop and implement manufacturing methods, operation sequences, and process documentation
  • check_circleOwn manufacturing readiness by ensuring accurate routings, BOM structures, and work instructions
  • check_circleInfluence product design to improve manufacturability and assembly efficiency
  • check_circleIdentify and implement process improvements to increase safety, throughput, and quality
  • check_circleEstimate manufacturing costs and establish time standards for production planning
  • check_circleCoordinate with quality and production teams to resolve manufacturing issues
  • check_circleProvide technical support by troubleshooting equipment issues and manufacturing bottlenecks
  • check_circleEvaluate equipment requirements and support capital equipment implementation
  • check_circleLead continuous improvement initiatives such as Lean events or Kaizen activities

Requirements

  • verifiedBachelor's Degree in Industrial, Manufacturing, or Mechanical Engineering
  • verified4 years of relevant work experience in manufacturing or industrial engineering
  • verifiedSolid understanding of algebra, geometry, exponents, logarithms, polynomial equations, and differential calculus
  • verifiedWorking knowledge of machine design and GD&T dimensioning
  • verifiedWorking knowledge of detail part manufacturing, assembly processes, and production workflow planning
  • verifiedAdvanced understanding of Bill of Material (BOM) structuring and routings
  • verifiedBasic computer skills with Autodesk-Inventor, Visio, Excel, and Project
  • verifiedAbility to perform basic cost accounting calculations (ROI, NPV, Cost of Goods)
  • verifiedU.S. Citizen or qualified U.S. Person in accordance with ALU 22CFR 120.15

Nice to Have

Experience implementing Lean manufacturing practices. Lean Six Sigma Certified. Specific experience in the manufacture of complex machinery, and particularly promoting Design for Manufacture/Design for Assembly principles. Familiarity with basic business finance principles.
