Ecoplexus is a rapidly-growing developer of large-scale solar, wind, and energy storage projects serving corporate and utility energy purchasers. Since our founding in 2009, we have grown at an annual rate of over 50%, designing, building, financing, owning, and operating projects across the US, Mexico, and Asia. Headquartered in San Francisco, we are driven by a passion for the renewable energy industry and the transformative change it brings. We seek self-starters and creative thinkers who possess the drive to achieve and the capacity to assume increasing responsibility in our dynamic growth environment.
As the Manager, Solar Permitting - West, you will serve as a strategic partner to the Southeast Permitting Manager, bridging the gap between complex regulatory landscapes and project execution. This role exists to navigate the intricate zoning and permitting processes required to bring renewable energy projects to life. You will work closely with internal teams—including engineering, finance, and real estate—as well as external counsel and consultants, ensuring that every project moves forward efficiently and compliantly.
Your day-to-day involves representing Ecoplexus in high-stakes discussions with state and federal authorities, such as the State Historic Preservation Office and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. You will lead the coordination of critical environmental assessments, manage timelines for specialized consultants, and prepare for and attend public hearings before Planning Boards and City Councils. While this position is remote, it requires a valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and a willingness to travel significantly to project sites and local jurisdictions to conduct site visits and engage with local communities.
We value transparency and efficiency in our hiring journey. Candidates selected for this role will engage in a streamlined process designed to assess both technical fit and cultural alignment. The process typically includes an initial conversation to discuss your background and the role's scope, followed by a deeper dive into your experience with land use permitting and environmental regulations. We look for individuals who can demonstrate their ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a larger team.
Ecoplexus is proud to be an Equal Employment Opportunity Employer. We do not discriminate based upon race, religion, color, national origin, gender (including pregnancy, childbirth, or related medical conditions), sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, age, status as a protected veteran, status as an individual with a disability, or other applicable legally protected characteristics. We are committed to building a diverse and inclusive workforce that reflects the communities we serve.
