About Northrop Grumman

At Northrop Grumman, our employees have incredible opportunities to work on revolutionary systems that impact people's lives around the world today, and for generations to come. Our pioneering and inventive spirit has enabled us to be at the forefront of many technological advancements in our nation's history—from the first flight across the Atlantic Ocean to stealth bombers, to landing on the moon. We look for people who have bold new ideas, courage, and a pioneering spirit to join forces to invent the future, and have fun along the way. Our culture thrives on intellectual curiosity, cognitive diversity, and bringing your whole self to work. We have an insatiable drive to do what others think is impossible. Our employees are not only part of history; they're making history.

About the Role

Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking a Manager Software Engineering 2 to support the Sentinel (GBSD) program. This position will be located in Huntsville, AL, or Roy, Utah. The role is a hybrid of functional management and deep technical execution. While approximately 20% of the time is dedicated to functional management—such as assessing staffing needs, supporting recruitment, and driving performance evaluations—the remaining 80% is focused on technical leadership. In this capacity, you will lead the Command & Control (C2) Software Test Team, consisting of approximately 20 software and automation test engineers. You will be responsible for developing, performing, and supporting test activities at the CSCI level, managing cost and risk, and verifying specifications through testing and modeling. This is a unique opportunity to work on systems that define the future of national defense.

Work Schedule & Logistics

This position operates on a standard 9/80 work schedule, allowing employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off. Relocation assistance may be available for qualified candidates. Please note that an active DoD Secret clearance is required for this role, and U.S. citizenship is mandatory for all positions requiring government clearance.

Hiring Process

The application period for this job is estimated to be 20 days from the posting date, though this timeline may be adjusted based on business needs and candidate availability. We encourage you to apply early to ensure your application is considered.

Equal Opportunity Employer

Northrop Grumman is an Equal Opportunity Employer, making decisions without regard to race, color, religion, creed, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, marital status, national origin, age, veteran status, disability, or any other protected class. We are committed to fostering a diverse and inclusive workplace where everyone can bring their whole self to work.
