With approximately 15,000 employees driven by integrity and mission focus, SAIC serves U.S. federal government customers with a deep commitment to "Redefining Ingenuity." The company supports large, complex projects through systems engineering and integration offerings grounded in deep domain knowledge.
You will join the NASA Independent Verification and Validation (IV&V) Mission Protection Services (MPS) team. This group is dedicated to ensuring the safety and security of space missions through rigorous simulation-based cybersecurity analysis of spacecraft computer systems and mission environments.
As a Senior System Security Engineer (SSE), you will guide the development and execution of models and simulations designed to identify and analyze hardware and software vulnerabilities across integrated space system architectures. This role is critical for protecting mission-critical assets by proactively uncovering weaknesses before they can be exploited.
In this position, you will leverage your expertise in spacecraft software and hardware to prioritize potentially vulnerable components. Working alongside a Junior Computer Engineer and a senior Computer/Software Engineer, you will investigate system components, interfaces, interactions, and attack surfaces. Your day-to-day involves modeling spacecraft computing architectures and avionics to support security investigations, developing security-focused test scenarios, and assessing system resilience.
Beyond technical execution, you will provide technical direction and mentorship to junior staff, helping them grow in simulation development and analysis. You will also collaborate closely with internal and external customers to establish investigative priorities, develop detailed task schedules, and communicate weekly updates on plans, approaches, and status.
This position requires a Top Secret clearance and the ability to obtain a TS/SCI clearance. Candidates must be willing to work on-site in Fairmont, WV, with potential for 10% travel.
To apply, please submit your resume and relevant certifications (CISM, CISSO, CISSP, CISSP-ISSEP, CISSP-ISSAP, CISA, or CASP) through the SAIC careers portal. Ensure your application highlights your experience with simulation development, hardware/software vulnerability analysis, and embedded systems knowledge.
