We are seeking a Sales/Use Tax Manager to join our growing SALT practice in Texas. In this role, you will partner with a talented team to help clients capitalize on strategic ideas and planning techniques that ensure state and local tax compliance, reduce expenses, and enhance cash flow.
Your day-to-day will involve identifying sales and use tax savings opportunities for multi-state clients while directing staff in daily operations. You will serve as the primary point of contact for staff addressing project issues, mentoring team members, and managing workload allocations. Key activities include meeting with clients and taxing authorities, researching complex issues, completing data reconciliations, making taxability decisions, and preparing tax authority filings. You will also review and finalize audit and refund tax decisions, draft petitions for redetermination and refund claims, and travel to client locations to gather necessary documentation such as invoices and purchase orders.
