Manager Operations Pathology

About the Role

The Manager of Operations Pathology leads the day-to-day operations of the Pathology and Histology department, overseeing personnel activities, technical workflows, and strategic growth. This role is critical for maintaining high-volume laboratory standards while driving efficiency and quality across the Southern California region.

You will serve as the primary liaison between the laboratory and regional information systems (RILIS/ITS), ensuring seamless integration and issue resolution. The position involves designing and implementing risk control processes, managing costs through productivity analysis, and leading the research and validation of new test development methodologies. As a key stakeholder, you will collaborate with Chiefs of Pathologists and other leadership to recommend and execute improvements that enhance service delivery and operational effectiveness.

Team Context

Operating within a Labor/Management Partnership environment, this role supports the Regional Laboratory's mission to provide quality service and client support in a cost-effective manner. The team is dedicated to resolving client issues, coordinating internal resources for new services, and managing the transition of work and timelines to meet service expectations.

Work Environment

This position requires flexibility to meet operational needs, including the potential for weekend work and participation in a manager-on-call rotation. Hours may vary based on the demands of the laboratory and ongoing projects.
