This position provides leadership for the Health Information Management (HIM) team across one or more sites within Adventist Health. You will serve as a strategic partner in maintaining enterprise objectives by monitoring compliance with key HIM indicators and setting the standards for timely, accurate operations.
In this role, you will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop and implement standards for data content, mapping, and documentation. Your work ensures high-quality data collection at the point of care, supporting accurate coding for payment purposes and facilitating research and program evaluation. You will lead the abstracting and retrieval of medical data, investigate issues surrounding data variability, and react to metric reports to ensure departmental goals are achieved.
Beyond technical oversight, you will foster a respectful work environment characterized by advocacy, accountability, and recognition. You will lead by example, sharing knowledge and experiences while providing timely feedback to encourage success and team development. Your leadership will focus on building a diverse, cohesive team, identifying the right talent to fill gaps, and facilitating resolution when disagreements arise to ensure all perspectives are heard.
