The Manager of Health Information Management serves as the strategic leader for the HIM department, overseeing the corporate direction and operational performance of coding, clinical documentation improvement, release of information, transcription, and information governance. In this role, you will act as the Facility Privacy Officer and custodian of all medical records for the organization.
You will lead diverse teams across a multi-facility setting, ensuring strict compliance with state, federal, and local regulations. Your day-to-day involves developing effective policies, fostering working relationships with external attorneys and regulatory entities, and collaborating with department leaders and physicians to identify trends and implement performance improvements. You will be responsible for managing the budget, developing staff performance metrics, and leading a team that includes Certified Coders, Clinical Documentation Specialists, and HIM Clerks.
